The purpose of the Scoping Consultation is to provide early engagement in the plan-making process by seeking views from local residents and stakeholders about what the plan should contain and how future engagement should be carried out.
We want your views on the key issues that will shape our borough. This includes your thoughts on the long-term spatial vision, strategic priorities and policies for future development in the borough, including the quantity and location of new homes, employment provision, town centres, transport and infrastructure provision, climate change, and the natural and historic environment. We also want your views on how we communicate with you in the future and which types of events or material you find most useful.
To help you respond to the consultation we have prepared a Scoping Consultation document and a series of questions. We have also prepared a formal notice to confirm the start of our Scoping Consultation.
The consultation will run from Wednesday 28th October 2026 until Monday 14th December 2026 (noon).
