Pride in Place – Hough Green and Ditton (Widnes)

pride in place

Pride in Place is a UK-wide grant programme investing up to £20 million over 10 years in neighbourhoods identified by the government as most in need of support. This long-term investment is designed to help communities shape their local area, address priorities, and deliver lasting, positive change.

While success will look different in every neighbourhood, the programme’s key aims are to:

  • Build stronger communities
  • Create thriving places
  • Empower people to take control of their local area

The area identified as Hough Green and Ditton in Widnes has been confirmed as a Pride in Place neighbourhood, with the opportunity to secure up to £20 million over the next decade to support community-led improvements.

Halton Borough Council will act as the accountable body for the programme, ensuring that funding is distributed fairly, transparently, and effectively.
