Day Nurseries (0–5 years)
Provide full-day care and early learning from birth to 5. Typically, open weekdays 8am–6pm (some longer). Offer full or part-time places, including term-time and all-year options.
Pre-Schools (2–5 years)
Offer part-time care and early learning, usually in morning and afternoon sessions during term time. Hours generally follow school times (around 9am–3pm).
Childminders (Birth–11+ years)
Care for children in their own home (up to 6 under age 8, including their own). Some work with assistants or others to care for more children.
