Operation Handle Bar

As part of Cheshire Police's Operation Handlebar the police are encouraging parents to explore opportunities across Halton to have security devices fitted to their children’s bikes, helping deter theft and potentially improve the chances of recovering a stolen bike.

A stolen bike is more than the loss of a valuable possession, particularly when it belongs to a child. It can effect their independence, confidence, and ability to get around safely. By working together, we can help protect our children’s bikes, give parents greater peace of mind and make our community safer.

Due to the time critical nature of reporting a stolen bike to Cheshire Police within the first 15 minutes, allowing them to use fresh information to investigate and potentially recover the bicycle.
